Q:What is the actual length of this skewer? ie. 168, 173, 178 mm?
A:The length is 16.5 cm.
Q:What is the equivalent thru axle adaptor for this style skewer? The "classic" looks different to me. Thanks in advance?
Q:I bought a new Fluid 2 and I have a LIV Avail with disc breaks. The trainer skewer is not long enough to fit through my tire. What do you suggest to use?
A:I have same situation: Liv Invite w/ disc brakes that I need to put on Fluid 2. The trainer skewer is not long enough. I went to my bike shop and bought a Kinetic Skewer T-740. It's the right size.
A:do you have another wheel to use?
A:Have you contacted the bike or tire manufacturer and seen if they might have or sell something compatible?
Q:Will this skewer work on a Trek 5500 without any damage to my Trek 5550? The reason I ask is that my skewer in my Trek is slightly larger in diameter than the CycleOps skewer. When I insert the CycleOps skewer into my wheel, it has play and wiggles a little. My Trek 5500 skewer fits into the wheel like a glove, and there is no play at all.
A:I do not know, I suggest contacting the manufacturer.Sorry I could not help
A:I'm not an expert but I would not do that.
Q:Hi. I purchased the cycle ops mag trainer and have a single speed bike. The skewer seems too long and was wondering if there is a solution you could recommend.
A:Hello, unfortunately I personally don't know how to fix that issue. I think you would have to cut it but then the end would not be threaded. Maybe check with cycleOps to see if there is a spacer option? Hope this helps!
A:you fix is simple,
A:I use mine with an old 12 speed, and the spindle did look too long, but it seems to work fine. I would guess that my cassette (or freewheel, whatever an 80s era bike had) hides a bit of spindle you can see. If it fits the dropouts, I would give it a cautious try.
Q:What is maximum inside length of skewer. I have a tandem with 175mm with. Will this work
A:The inside length of the skewer is 16.5 cm
Q:I have an older bike with a 3 speed. It has a small cable and chain connection which goes into the rear axle. Does this require a diferent skewer? If so, please tell me what to buy. Thank you,
A:If the rear axle has less than 120mm spacing, the 3 speed bike will not work. If the bike has at least a 120mm spacing and you have an axle rod, you will need acorn nuts (purchased from your local bike shop) so the rear axle will fit in the trainer.
Q:What is the use of the skewer? There are some used cycleops that has no skewer included. DO I NEED it?
Q:Will this fit on my Trek CrossRip2?
A:As long as your bike currently uses a standard quick release skewer, it should fit without any issues.
A:You will want to purchase our trainer skewer as this is the only skewer approved for use with our trainers. Using other skewers could cause damage or potential safety issues
