The Natural Bridge State Park is contained within the Red River Gorge, making it a hidden gem of the region. It offers a wide variety of activities including hiking, camping, and kayaking. If you're looking for a break from campfire meals, there are plenty of popular, local restaurants nearby.
Monte Sano State Park, Alabama

Monte Sano State Park in Alabama has miles of winding roads and empty trails lined with native azaleas, leading to spectacular vistas atop the mountain. It's a great campground to base yourself for both hiking and biking adventures. The park also features 14 rustic cabins, 89 campsites, a primitive campground, a camp store, and showers.
Tishomingo State Park Campground, Mississippi

Tishomingo State Park is a beautifully wooded area in Mississippi. Rock outcroppings and cliffs create a rugged backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. The campground boasts a picnic area with tables and grills, picnic pavilions, disc golf courses, a compass course, hiking trails, playgrounds, and even a swimming pool. Rock climbing is available right near the campground by permit. Canoe trips and fishing are also available on Bear Creek and the 45-acre Haynes Lake.
