Virtual Route of the Week: Col du Galibier (Col du Lautaret)
To climb Col du Galibier is to experience one of the 27 regions of France: Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. This incredible climb starts in Briançon, passes through Col du Lautaret and ends at the mountain top of Col du Galibier – a peak that is often the highest point of the Tour de France. This challenging route begins with average grade of 3.1% over the 15 miles from from Briançon to Lautaret, and finishes with a grueling 5 mile climb touting an average grade of 6.3%.
