Thanks to everyone who stopped by the CycleOps Warm up zone.

CycloCross racers were treated to some unseasonably warm Wisconsin weather during the 2012 National Championship in Verona, WI from January 4-8. Race directors were prepared for a cold and snowy race, but instead the 2.1 mile track was often muddy due to the above freezing temperatures.

The event featured non championship races as well as single speed, masters, junior collegiate and elite divisions.

CycleOps, which is based in Madison, WI, and just up the street from the host Badger Prairie State Park, provided a warm up zone with 50 trainers to ensure that athletes were properly warmed up for their races. We would like to thank our CycleOps retailers who partnered with us to make the Warm Up Zone possible:  Ben’s Cycle, Gear West, Wheel & Sprocket and Williamson Bicycle Works.

I wasn't at Nationals, but at many of New England's biggest CX races, Cycle Ops was there with a tent full of trainers for warming up.

And let me tell you, when it was 26 degrees at the start of Northampton Cycle Smart International this year, I took full advantage of the trainers set up by the staging area. (double bonus is that I didn't miss my call-up like I did on day 1).

Thanks Cycle-Ops for supporting the sport!

P.S. Loved the smoothness and feel of the new Mag trainers.
